Tzurit Or
Founder & CEOTzurit founded Tatte with a vision to bring Israeli-inspired baking traditions to Washington, DC. Her passion for honest food and genuine hospitality defines everything Tatte stands for.
Tatte was born from a simple but profound desire: to create a tatte bakery that feels like home. Our founder, inspired by Mediterranean baking traditions and a deep love for wholesome, honest ingredients, opened the first Tatte café in 2014 in Washington, DC.
From that first location, we've grown into a beloved gathering place for the community — a spot where neighbors become friends over a perfect morning coffee and a freshly baked pastry. Every item on our menu is crafted from scratch each morning, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.
The name "Tatte" reflects our ethos — unpretentious, warm, and rooted in tradition while embracing creativity. We believe that good food, made with integrity, has the power to bring people together.
We are guided by a clear purpose: to craft exceptional food experiences that nourish body, spirit, and community.
To craft exceptional, scratch-made food and beverages that bring joy to every guest — served in a warm, inclusive space where everyone belongs. We believe that great tatte food starts with great ingredients and genuine care.
To become the most loved artisan bakery and café in the United States — known not only for our food, but for the way we make every guest feel welcome, valued, and at home from the moment they walk through our doors.
We promise to never compromise on quality — to bake fresh every single day, use honest ingredients, treat our team with respect, and give back to the communities that have welcomed and supported us throughout our journey.
Our values aren't just words on a wall — they shape every decision we make, every recipe we create, and every interaction we have with our guests and each other.
Every pastry, every plate, every cup — crafted to the highest standard. We never cut corners, and we never settle for less than our best.
We treat every guest like a friend. Our cafés are designed to be places of comfort, connection, and genuine human warmth.
We source responsibly, reduce waste mindfully, and continually seek ways to lessen our environmental footprint across all locations.
Tatte exists because of — and for — its community. We support local farmers, partner with neighborhood organizations, and invest in our people.
